The Single-Six was first released in June 1953 and has probably taught more kids how to shoot a revolver than any other since.
The Ruger Single-Six is a single action rimfire revolver produced by Sturm, Ruger. The grips are smooth oil finished wood with black on silver-colored logo medallions. MAGNUM CAL.' and with the Ruger logo twice behind the cylinder stop notches. The front face of both cylinders are marked '445' in electropencil. NEW MODEL SINGLE-SIX', the right has the serial number. U.S.A.', the left of the frame is marked 'RUGER.
The top of the barrel is marked 'STURM, RUGER & CO., INC. 1977 Ruger New Model Single-Six Convertible Pre-Warning Single Action.
